Plenty Primary Sport

Physical Education

Plenty Primary offers a comprehensive Physical Education and Sporting experience for all children.

In addition to the weekly Physical Education classes, children are also involved in swimming lessons, Perceptual Motor Program classes and weekly after school sporting programs. Our school Auskick program is ranked in the top 30 in the state and gives the children a chance to play on the MCG or Etihad Stadium every year!

Sport

Children in Years 3 to 6 develop their athleticism and fitness levels by being involved in Cross Country, Swimming and Athletics programs that all involve finishing with a school sports day. We also take part in competitions with the District School Sports Association and the Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria. Children in Years 5 and 6 also play weekly sport against other schools in the district.

Children compete in Winter and Summer sports such as Football, Netball, Softball, Volleyball, Rounders, Basketball, Soccer, Bat Tennis and Cricket. Often they are successful in the district and go on to represent the school in Zone, Regional and State championships.

Equestrian

The Plenty Campus has its own equestrian facility, giving Plenty students a unique opportunity to learn to ride horses and participate in dressage and show jumping activities as well as games. Primary students are able to compete at Inter School competitions as part of the IGS Equestrian Team.

Horse Riding Lessons.

Primary students are able to participate in Horse Riding lessons during the school day. These lessons are conducted by an experienced and accredited NCAS Coach at our Equestrian Centre. Ponies and gear are provided and students can either take lessons on their own horses, or on ponies provided by the School.
