Environment
“We will heighten student awareness of environmental issues and provide opportunities for student involvement in environmental projects.” Ivanhoe Grammar School Strategic and Action Plan 2011-2015
Students are taught the importance of tending to the future of the planet. Round Square students are expected to demonstrate an active interest and concern for all natural environments, to be aware of proven problems and to play a practical role in tackling environmental issues. Students learn the fine balance and the interdependence needed to maintain a healthy relationship between human beings and the planet. Special programs, work projects and curricula emphasise each young person's destiny to be a guardian of the global environment.
A commitment to environmentally based activities may be undertaken in conjunction with the following organisations or groups:
- Parks Victoria
- Department of Sustainability and Environment
- Greening Australia
- School Based Environmental Group
- Participation in Clean Up Australia Day
- Landcare Victoria
- Coast Care
